THE CHURCH IN AND FOR THE COMMUNITY
MORNING WORSHIP
BUTT LANE BAPTIST CHURCH
We at BUTT LANE BAPTIST CHURCH know that our strength lies in knowing and serving our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, as we meet him in Holy Scripture and in our own experience. Central to this is worshipping and praising him through prayer, song, preaching of the Word and service.
The church was founded in 1880 and over the years has adapted itself to suit each generation.
The church is fully accessible to all including wheelchairs. The church has full WIFI facilities and a hearing loop system. We stream our services live using Facebook and Youtube.
We as a church strive to put Christ at the centre of the community.

STUDYING THE BIBLE
Our members are encouraged to read their Bibles daily, possibly using as daily guide, such as Daily Light. Preaching in the Church is Bible based to help us understand what God is saying to us through his Word.
PRAYER LIFE OF THE CHURCH
Every day of the year we publish a Daily Prayer Focus both on our Facebook Page and on our WhatsApp Group thread. Each week has a theme so that we can spread our prayers as widely as possible for those in need of God's love. We know that God hears our prayers as Jesus told us to prayer to our Father in heaven.
The most widely known prayer in the world is found in Matthew chapter 6 and is known as the Lord's Prayer. Join with us now as we pray this together:
Our Father who art in Heaven
hallowed be thy name,
Thy Kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth
as it is in heaven,
Give us this day our daily bread:
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive them that trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
For ever and ever,
Amen

CHURCH FOR CHILDREN
Children are welcome to all our services and a special designated play area is arranged in the midst of the seats. Older children can have activities to do during the service related to the Children's Reading, that comes just before the main Scripture Readings. Our Secretary sends children home with "Sunday School in a Box" where the Bible content is further explored through activities and puzzles.
